Cram-Q

What they needed

Cram-Q is a study app for university students, built and run by JLC Studio. It started as a tool for one test week. It is now a real product in a free beta, and it goes live to the public on 1 February 2027.

Students in test week share one problem: a pile of slides, a date that won't move, and YouTube full of videos that teach the subject but not their course. Watching the wrong ones costs the time they don't have.

What we built

It reads the course first. A student adds their own course material (slides, study guide, past papers), and Cram-Q works out what the test covers.

AI that checks before it suggests. For every chapter it finds videos and checks each one against the student's own material. Only the ones that match make the list.

Notes and a plan, written for them. Short notes for every video, ready to export to Word or PDF, and a day-by-day plan up to the test, with practice and revision days.

An assistant for the module. Ask Q to build a test's videos, write missing notes or say what isn't covered yet.

Software, not just a web page. A desktop app that updates itself, with its own website and waitlist at cram-q.co.za.
